Emollients

  • Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides

    An emollient created by the esterification of glycerol with specific medium chain coconut fatty acids derived from Coconut Oil. It is a very stable non-comedogenic oil with a light-feel that is easily absorbed into the skin.

  • Coco-Caprylate/​Caprate

    A fast spreading, non-greasy emollient that provides a very light skin feel and is an excellent alternative to silicones or other synthetic emollients esters. Coco Caprylate Caprate is an ester of natural fatty alcohol, caprylic acid and capric acid. 100% derived from natural and renewable feedstocks.

  • C13-15 Alkane

    Hemisqualane is a sugar-based emollient that is 100% biobased and biodegradable. It is non-comedogenic and presents a silky and light feel on the skin. For hair care, it helps to reduce frizz, protect hair from color degradation and provide protection from heat.

  • Diheptyl Succinate + Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer

    A 100% natural and sustainable emollient that has a sensory feel similar to Dimethicone (silicone). It is derived from castor oil and coconut oil. It is known to enhance shine, texture, and protect hair color.

  • Hydrogenated Ethylhexyl Olivate + Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables

    An excellent natural alternative to silicone, derived from olives which contain nourishing phytocompounds to support healthy skin. It leaves skin feeling smooth and moisturized and has been shown to improve hair manageability and shine.

  • Isoamyl Laurate

    A moisturizing light weight plant-based emollient with a silky powdery after-feel. In hair products, it helps as a detangler, adds shine and reduces friction during wet and dry combing. It is eco-efficiently derived from sustainable coconut oil or palm oil (RSPO) with a 100% lower CO2 footprint compared to conventional chemical production.

  • Squalane

    Our Squalane is sustainably sourced from plant-sugars and yeast fermentation. and is 100% biobased. It helps to fortify the skin’s moisture barrier to help strengthen and calm irritatation. It can also help to smooth the appearance of fine lines. It is non-comedogenic and helps to replenish dehydrated skin.

  • Undecane + Tridecane

    Is an ultra-light natural alternative to cyclomet­hicone (silicone). It is a 100% renewable emollient and readily biodegra­dable. It presents a dry silky skin feel. In hair care oils it quickly evaporates so the hair will not feel oily or weighed down.

  • Allantoin

    Is known for its soothing and anti-irritating properties. Allantoin has a moisturizing and keratolytic effect, increasing the water content of the extracellular matrix and enhancing the desquamation of upper layers of dead skin cells, increasing the smoothness of the skin; promoting cell proliferation and wound healing; and a soothing, anti-irritant, and skin protectant effect by forming complexes with irritants and sensitizing agents. It stimulates healthy, normal tissue formation even at low concentrations.

  • Bakuchiol

    Is known to improve skin defense against oxidative stress and inflammatory stress, stimulate collagen synthesis and activate anti-aging genes. Bakuchiol is a 100% plant based and safe alternative to retinol (vitamin A). It imparts the benefits of retinol but without its safety issues and drawbacks. One of its great advantages is its photostability which makes it suitable for day applications. Bakuchiol is a concentrated active ingredient derived from Psoralea Corylifolia (Babchi seeds) and is different to the whole oil which is also available on the market as Bakuchi or Babchi oil.

  • Bisabolol

    A naturally occurring active ingredient that accelerates the healing process of skin and protects it from the effects of daily stress. Known to have anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory properties, a-bisabolol has been shown to reduce UV-induced erythema in-vivo. It has also been demonstrated in studies to enhance the dermal penetration of other ingredients.

  • Ceramides

    Are fatty acids that are naturally found in the uppermost layers of the skin. However, as you age and even the sun damage decreases the ceramide levels in the skin. Ceramides protect and fortify the skin barrier while restoring and retaining moisture, making skin plump and helping to improve the overall appearance of skin. They help to protect the skin from pollution and other environmental damage. Studies show that moisturizers with ceramides can help visibly improve skin dryness for up to 24 hours after application.

  • Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate

    Derived from licorice root extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate is the dipotassium salt of glycyrrhizic acid a key component in the extract. It is a skin conditioning agent that helps to improve the appearance of dry and damaged skin and to calm irritated skin. It also has been linked with the preservation of hyaluronic acid content in the skin.

  • Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate

    MAP is a stable derivative of Vitamin C. It has shown to suppress skin pigmentation by inhibiting tyrosinase activity, making it effective in lightening dark spots. MAP has been shown to have the same potential to boost skin collagen synthesis as does Ascorbic Acid, but at lower concentrations, making it is a good option for sensitive skin.

  • N-Acetyl Glucosamine, NAG

    Considered to be a “skin identical ingredient”, meaning it’s found in our skin in the spaces between the cells, and it is used to maintain the skin’s barrier abilities and reduce dryness. Studies have shown that NAG can increase collagen production, moisture content of the skin, elasticity of the skin, exfoliation, help calm the skin, and reduce hyperpigmentation. NAG when combined with Niacinamide increases its impact on hyperpigmentation.

  • Niacinamide, Vitamin B3

    A safe, nonirritating ingredient that research has shown can offer a number of benefits in improving the appearance of aged and photodamaged skin and improving skin moisturization. It is an effective tool to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, tighten and minimize enlarged pores and improve oily skin due to its sebum lowering activity.

  • Panthenol, Pro-Vitamin B5

    Is valued in skin and hair care for its moisturizing properties. Its anti-inflammatory properties help to soothe sensitive or irritated skin. It also helps to strengthen and moisturize the hair. It acts as a humectant and adheres to the cuticle and penetrates into the hair shaft helping damaged hair.

  • Resveratrol

    A polyphenol found in Japanese Knotweed and the skin of red grapes. It is a very effective anti-oxidant with 95% efficiency and helps neutralizes free radicals that can damage the skin. It has also been shown to help calm the skin and be effective against photoaging and acne.

  • Saccharide Isomerate

    A deeply moisturizing ingredient offering long term hydration for up to 72 hours. It is based on a composition which is similar to that of the carbohydrate complex found in human skin and on its unique ability to bind to skin cells bringing dry skin back to life. It is 100% natural and plant derived.

  • Sodium Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic Acid

    A polysaccharide and a compound that occurs naturally in every tissue of the body serving as a water reservoir for the cells. As we age, skin loses hyaluronic acid and the ability to hold sufficient water in the reservoir. Applying HA to the skin may help hydrate the skin's reservoirs, increasing the skin’s moisture level, and smoothing down age lines.

  • Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate

    A very stable, oil-soluble Vitamin C ester which has anti-oxidant activity, inhibiting lipid peroxidation. Topical use can mitigate the damaging effects of UV exposure. Studies have shown it to stimulate collagen production as well as clarifying and brightening the skin by inhibiting melanogenesis (the production of pigment) thereby promoting a more even skin tone. Unlike ascorbic acid, it will not exfoliate or irritate skin.

  • Ubiquinone, Coenzyme Q10

    Coenzyme Q10 is a fat-soluble vitamin-like substance present in every cell of the human body. It serves as a coenzyme vital to production of energy within cells. It is also a very powerful antioxidant or free radical scavenger. CoQ10 can penetrate the cell layers of the skin and may lessen the depth of wrinkles due to photo aging, as well as epithelial cell turnover.

  • Xylitylglucoside + Anhydroxylitol + Xylitol

    An innovative powerhouse combination of three hydrating plant-derived sugars and humectants that optimizes the skin’s hydration flow by inducing the synthesis of crucial proteins and lipids responsible for a healthy and hydrated skin barrier. It is a sustainable, biodegradable and non-aquatoxic ingredient derived from wheat and wood.

  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa)

    A sulfate-free naturally derived, readily biodegradable mild cleansing agent. SLSa has excellent foaming, bubbling, and lathering properties that make it great for cleansing skin and hair.

    An emulsifier naturally sourced from renewable and sustainable sources.

  • Benzyl Alcohol, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Sodium Levulinate

    The combination of Benzyl Alcohol with the organic acids Benzoic Acid and Dehydroacetic Acid is an effective preservative blend that offers protection against bacteria, yeast, and mold. This combination is considered gentle enough for eye-area products.

    Sodium Levulinate is the salt of levulinic acid, a synthetic organic acid that helps condition and soften skin. It is blended with other preservatives because of its antimicrobial efficiency.

  • Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin

    Phenoxyethanol is very effective in preventing the growth of fungi, bacteria, and yeast in personal care products. The European Union and Japan both approve its safety and use up to the level of 1% and our formulas fall below that recommended level. Ethylhexylglycerin and Sodium Benzoate can boost the effectiveness of Phenoxyethanol for broad-spectrum preservation. Ethylhexylglycerin is derived from glycerine, obtained mainly from plant-based sources. It is used for its natural preservative action and its use as a skin conditioner.

  • Pentylene Glycol, Phenethyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Triethyl Citrate

    We use a plant based Pentylene Glycol manufactured from renewable raw materials from sugar cane. It hydrates the skin and boosts the efficacy of active ingredients including preservatives. Phenethyl Alcohol is an aromatic alcohol that is used as a fragrance and as an antimicrobial preservative. Glyceryl Caprylate is a plant based ingredient that offers skin conditioning and hydrating benefits as well being a highly effective antimicrobial and preservative booster. Triethyl Citrate is a highly effective antimicrobial and preservative booster. It can be mixed with other materials to provide broad spectrum protection.

  • Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Gluconolactone

    Sodium benzoate is the salt of benzoic acid, an acid that is found naturally in foods like cranberries, apricots, mushrooms, and honey. It is used as a preservative in both cosmetics and food products, where it prevents both bacterial and fungal growth. Potassium sorbate is the inactive salt of sorbic acid. Sodium Benzoate is often combined with Potassium Sorbate or other preservatives to prevent the growth of yeast and mold. Gluconolactone helps to improve skin texture, tone and hydrate the skin. When blended with Sodium Benzoate in a specific way and formulated properly it offers broad-spectrum protection of personal care products.
